
Paradontitis, commonly known as paradontosis.
Paradontosis can be caused by:
- avitaminosis
- smoking
- exesive consumption of alcohol
- parafunction, habitual gnashing of teeth
- hormonal disorders
- systemic dosorders (ex. g. diabetes)
- wrong diet
- many incorrect protetic fillings
- disorders in salivation

An exposed neck of a tooth and gingival inflamation are the first signs of paradontosis.
In time the affected tooth loses parts of its bone and as a result teeth become lose.
Gingival bleeding might appear in severe cases.
Treatment of “paradontosis” consists of a number of steps:
- initial treatment – hygienic prcedures
- proper treatment (periodontal surgery procedures, antibiotics)
- supporting treatment
